LAURA BURZACOTT
Since moving to Melbourne in 2005, Laura has worked
extensively to establish a career in the performing arts. She has
completed a Certificate III in Performance and Practices at the
National Theatre, the Professional Actors Studio in Theatre and
the Professional Actors Studio in Film at Verve Studios.
Already in a few short years, she has gained a reputation for
being incredibly versatile and is currently represented by John
Powell. She has performed in a wide variety of theatre
productions, cabaret shows and more recently in film and
television.
In musical theatre she has played the roles of Courtney in the
new Australian musical CALL GIRL THE MUSICAL by Tracy
Harvey & Doug MacLeod; Linda in BLOOD BROTHERS (CLOC);
Alexi Darling in RENT (Devansen Productions); Charity in
SWEET CHARITY and Alex in Victorian premiere of THE
WITCHES OF EASTWICK (ARC Theatre); for which she won a
Victorian Musical Theatre Guild Judges Award.
She is a regular cabaret performer having performed a selfdevised
piece for CABARET VERVE at the Auspcious Arts
Centre, in the CAPERS CABARET SHOWCASE; EVOLUTIONS and
HAPPY CHAPS for Devanasen Productions.
Last year she played the role of Sally Brown to great acclaim in
the Melbourne Musicals season of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN,
CHARLIE BROWN, to great reviews.
In straight theatre she has appeared in LAST DRINKS and THE
THREE SISTERS (Verve Studio); THE GUN IN HISTORY (National
Theatre) and A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM (Ballarat
Begonia Festival)
She is currently developing her own one woman show
FINDING HOME which will make its debut later this year.
