BIO OF LOU ENDICOTT
Lou Endicott (BA Drama, Grad Dip – Ed, Queensland University of Technology) is an actor and freelance teaching artist.
Lou moved to Melbourne in 2005 from her hometown Brisbane to seek more opportunities as an actor.
Apart from her university training, Lou has been a student in courses held by many Teaching Artists including: Marie Dumont (La Coq), Sebastian Pasche (British Director, playwright, acting coach), Rowena Balos (Voice), Janette Loch Kircher (Classical Singing Training), Queenie Vander Zandt (Musical Theatre Master classes), Sally McKenzie (Acting for Screen), Bille Brown (Scene Masterclass) Dean Carey (Actors Centre, Sydney),
Simone Young (Directing Actors Master Class) and trained with Impro Melbourne in their technique class.
Whilst working within performing arts education, Lou has also worked as an actor for many fringe theatre companies performing a cavalcade of shows which have included cabaret performances, circus theatre, Greek Drama, Absurd theatre, contemporary Australian and classical plays. Over the last four and a half years in Melbourne she has been a performer in a diverse range of projects including the Melbourne Fringe Festival, Shakespeare with travelling theatre company Green Cyc in Apollo Bay and at Mt Buller, spontaneous theatre with Impro Melbourne and three Short and Sweet Top Thirty Plays at the State Arts Centre as well as regional tours of children’s theatre with Theatre on Toast (to name a few). Lou has had the privilege of working with “If Theatre” under the direction of Matt Scholten (VCA Masters in Directing Graduate) in many shows including “A Slight Ache”, “Before the Honeymoon” and “The Crucible”. Lou recently performed in “Twelfth Night” at Trades Hall.
This year, Lou has taken a new direction with performing by collaborating with independent film maker Justin Batchelor (Batchedit) on several shorts and a pilot for a comedy television series. Currently Batchedit has cast Lou in two mini web series to be shot before the end of the year.
Lou is currently teaching acting to young people for various arts organistations including The Manningham Arts Centre and Stageleft Performing Arts School.
