Happy New Year MyProductionPortal Users!

2009 has been a year of growth for MyProductionPortal and its parent company Mystical Guides Pty Ltd. We hope that people have found the resource useful and look forward to meeting and introducing more members to the MyProductionPortal community in 2010.

For those who are curious about the internet traffic through MyproductionPortal.com in 2009, cpanel lists the number of visits to the site for 2009 (the site was officially launched in April 2009) as just under 20,000 visits (not hits or views but visits by individuals) and the content data that was downloaded from the server was just over 26 GBytes. Hits and page views are in the millions but as they are influenced by the Live Chat plug-in they have not been listed.

In 2009 we laid the foundation for a number of projects to be run through MyProductionPortal.com and in 2010 these projects will become a reality.

These include:

• A specially renovated 450sqm studio office / production facility based on the second floor of the National Storage building in Brunswick. National Storage has come on board as a major sponsor and will support our feature production slate. The facility will have a 7.5m x 6m Greenscreen Cyc, a 6m x 5m white Photographic Cyc, a general purpose 6m x 3m Greenscreen area, a Post-Production area with 6 workstations, a Rehearsal area, a Conference area, an ADR and Foley Sound Booth, a large kitchen, a makeup area and male and female toilets. The studio can be accessed through the front of the building by stairs or via the industrial elevator which is located only a few meters away from the rear entrance of the studio. Large vehicle access is available only a few meters away from the industrial elevator. All production equipment will be stored in the facility for ready access when using the studio or for loading the production trucks. We expect to be moving into the office within the next 2-3 weeks.

• The Movie Machine. The movie machine is a production service intended for those who have a desire to make a movie but may not have the experience to do so. The Movie Machine essentially provides the production facilities and technical know-how to achieve the desired production goal. The Movie Machine is a commercial service, however it will be provided at incredibly competitive rates, which will be announced shortly. The Movie Machine service also caters to commercial TVCs, Music Videos, Corporate, Documentary and TV production. The Movie Machine will be based at the Brunswick office.

• The Devils Candy (www.devilscandy.com.au) Print and Graphic design service will be based at the Brunswick office. The principles of the Devils Candy have over 15 years of experience in the print and design industry and will take care of any print and 2D design needs.

• Cinema level production through a RED ONE Digital workflow. The studio will include RED Digital Cinema equipment and workflow.  RED ONE camera and related production equipment will provide a 1080p, 2K and 4K workflow for Cinema and mid to high end productions. Traditional video formats will also be available.

• A production slate that includes a comedy feature (1st quarter), a horror feature (2nd and 3rd quarter), an industry ‘behind the scenes’ TV show (2nd quarter) and 2 x 1 hr special interest programs. Other projects may be announced when they are close to production. A number of people have asked us whether there will be any further ‘Haunted Australia’ episodes. We are presently in discussion with a respected producer regarding redeveloping the concept for commercial television.
